She pulled on her leash but was also a good listener and very good at sitting anytime you would ask her to. She also loves to cuddle and get pets! She was definitely a little vocal, barking at people but only because she wanted their attention. You could tell she is a very smart lady and can definitely learn a lot more tricks and commands in a permanent home.
Per volunteer 6/16: Perfect girl Sky Fox was so gentle on her walk today! She wanted to spend most of our time outside sitting in my lap, but also enjoyed sniffing around and checking out the yard. She seems very sweet and gentle!

Francine was supposed to be adopted and while we were out exercising her, another couple inquired about her availability. It's because she is a beautiful pup with a lovely energy about her.
She wants to fetch, play, snuggle, and run. As soon as we were outside, she proudly picked up a stick. There is so much life and joy to this little girl and she's going to grow into being a really lovely dog.

Cathwolfe's initial time at the shelter has shown that she's a bit nervous but incredibly loving. She eagerly greets people, often rolling over for belly rubs and seeking comfort from her handlers. She's a submissive and sweet girl who just wants to be close to someone who can give her the affection she craves. Although she gets a little anxious in the shelter environment, she loves to snuggle, give face kisses, and climb into your lap for comfort.
While Cathwolfe is great with people, she's still adjusting to the shelter and would do best in an adult-only home where she can build confidence and warm up to a new environment.

Per Volunteer 8/17/24: Snoopie is a giant love bug. All he wants are ear rubs and cuddles.
He is such a gentle dog, even when being given a treat, he'll gently take it out of your hand. He radiates love and clearly just wants someone to love him even half of what he's offering to this world.
He's calm in his kennel with chaos going on around him and once outside, seizes whatever opportunities he has to snuggle up to you. This dog is ready to adore whomever gives him a home.
Per volunteer on 8/11: Snoopie is a love! He was patiently waiting to leave his kennel, he unfortunately had not been out with a volunteer in 3 days. He was easy to leash and walk through the kennels.

Meet Benji Boy, the best buddy you could ask for! He's SUPER wiggly and very focused on his handler. He loves pets all over and will gladly hang in your lap getting loving. Benji Boy was found as a stray so not much is known about his past but we know a loving owner will make him eternally happy! This handsome pup would thrive best in a home without younger children due to leash biting when overstimulated and some barrier reactivity in the shelter. This sweet boy has had several good meets in the shelter with other dogs, however, does best with a slow approach when meeting new friends.
Benji came into our care on 7/29 by a good samaritan who found him. The finder kept him for 2 weeks in search of an owner with no luck and brought him to ACCT. They described Benji Boy as cuddly, playful, and friendly, he also got along well with the finder's frenchie!

He would love to go to a home with adults only as he can be a bit mouthy with play. He's a silly goofy boy- come on down and get your Gizmo!
Very easy to leash! He is pretty strong and pulls but with a harness should be no problem. He takes pets all over and is super sweet! Took treats very gently from me. When he was enjoying getting pets he made some piggie snorts. He had a great fence meet with another dog- he did a bunch of play bows! we couldn't do a full meet as that handler wasn't approved to do dog meets.
Medium energy with me. He has a sign on his kennel that says he leash bites but that was not my experience. When we went to go inside from the play yard he grabbed the leash for 1 second then dropped it so really had no issues with him on leash!

Tofu was good in kennel and easy to leash. She came to the front with soft eyes and wags, but was also lip licking a lot for leashing! She remained loose bodied and wiggly while the handler placed the leash over her head. No issues exiting or returning

Denali is an energetic pup who's eager to stretch his legs and enjoy the great outdoors. Denali is often thrilled to get outside. He's quick on his paws and will keep you on your toes, but he also knows how to slow down and enjoy some quiet moments too. Denali arrived as a stray on August 1st. He was noted to be friendly, shy, and scared, but good around strangers. The finders saw that he appeared hurt and brought him to the shelter to get the care he needed. Due to his length of stay at the shelter, Denali is now timestamped and looking for placement with a rescue partner or an adopter.
BEHAVIOR:
Per staff 8/18: Brought Denali out for a dog meet with Cinderella. He did fantastic! No issues leashing: you could tell he knew the drill and was very excited to spend some time outside. Walked well to the Cold Club walking path, and met Cinderella (a younger female dog about his size) outdoors. After some initial bursts of energy which were easily redirected onto new smells, a pee break, and a brief walkalong, Denali and Cinderella became perfectly affable walking buddies: interchanging easily between giving each other attention and sniffs, and getting attention from their handlers.

He was barking and jumping up quite a bit on other kennels at the other dogs who were barking at him as we walked through the kennels. Outside he met BellaRosa through the fence and was sniffing nicely but had hackles up and had a stiff high tail wagging quickly. We did a walk along and with the slowed walk he approached her again much more nicely, no hackles, very loose. He had a bunch of good sniffs and let her sniff him as well. In the play run he enjoyed romping around but was most interested in me and pets.
